The Bavarian Dress

The Bavarian Dress was commissioned for the window display of a design studio’s gallery in Munich. The piece was created entirely from recycled materials sourced from the team’s ongoing design projects.

The project explores how discarded materials can take on new forms and functions. The making process involved unexpected discoveries, from sewing plastic grass carpet to transforming wallpaper into a fabric-like material through washing.

Though not an accurate representation of traditional Bavarian dress, the piece draws on its familiar shapes and references, reinterpreting them through a playful and experimental approach. The photographs were taken in the Bavarian region of Germany.
